About Dr. Lee Butterfield
I am a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia (CHCPBC #1791) with a Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. In addition to my private practice clinical work, I have been a counsellor educator and researcher, holding an Adjunct Professor appointment at the University of British Columbia for many years. After receiving my Ph.D., I did clinical work at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University counselling centres, conducted research for a number of organizations, was program director for two counselling psychology graduate programs at Adler University, and taught graduate and undergraduate courses at both UBC and Adler. I have also provided clinical supervision to counsellor trainees at SFU, UBC, and Adler. Prior to becoming a psychologist, I worked for many years in the corporate world in Human Resource Management and business, so understand the complexities of workplaces and the challenges people face. My business experience intersects with my work as a psychologist in the research projects I have conducted over the past 20 years.
I work with adults of all ages, including emancipated minors in post-secondary. I have worked with first responders, lawyers, health care workers, retirees, new- mid- and late-career workers, members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, new parents, as well as young adults in university, and many others. I have also worked with members of several First Nations communities. My clients primarily come from around the Greater Vancouver area and Squamish.
